About us
Slick’s BBQ is a family-owned and operated catering business based out of Giddings, Texas, proudly serving our community with time-honored recipes and genuine hospitality. Although the business was officially established in 2018, BBQ has been a part of our family for generations.
Marcus grew up cooking alongside his father, learning the craft at a young age—long before he was tall enough to see over the pit, but big enough to throw a log in the firebox.
His father, Joseph Lara, catered for over a decade, carrying on traditions passed down from his father, Richard “Slick” Lara, the origin of our name and the foundation of many of our recipes today.

We offer both full-service and drop-off catering options to fit your needs. While we specialize in traditional BBQ, our menu offers a variety of options, including fajitas, BBQ chicken pot pie, lasagna, and a range of sides—providing you with the flexibility to create the perfect spread for your event.
